Today is International Battery Day

Did you know that Alessandro Volta, theinventor of the first electric battery, was born on 18 February 1745? It's inhis honour that we are celebrating International Battery Day today!

Batteries are an indispensable part of ourdaily lives - powering our phones, laptops, cars and other devices. But do youknow what to do with them when they run out?

Recycling batteries is crucial forprotecting the environment. They contain valuable metals that can be reused,but also hazardous substances that should not end up in landfills. By sortingthem properly, we help reduce the amount of raw materials that are extractedand protect nature from pollution.

Remember - used batteries belong in specialcollection points, not in the regular bins!

Where to dispose of them? Drop them off atcollection points or at shops and collection yards.
